Flora Borealis
072918 - Flora Borealis at Missouri Botanical Gardens is just an amazing thing to experience. It has been extended to run through October, and you really should take the time to see it. In fact I may get tickets to stroll through it one last time before it goes away. This is one of those events that I looked around and literally said, "Henry would have a been proud to see this in his garden". That really set the tone for me the rest of the night. I was just lost in the shadows and lights, which is where I spend most of my time when photographing concerts.
Also to any photographers heading out, MBG doesn't allow tripods so your shots are going to be handheld exposures with open aperture settings, high ISO, and as low of a shutter speed as you can hold steady in your hand. It was a challenge, but I think I walked away with some great shots of my favorites parts of the display!
