Lafayette Square features some of the oldest homes in existence in St. Louis, dating back to 1836 and features many French style and Victorian row houses. Not to mention some of the best restaurants in the area, and it offers visitors a 30 acre park (Lafayette Park) that was commissioned in 1854, which the neighborhood built iteself around.
