Black Joe Lewis @ Off Broadway
2.15.12 @ Off Broadway
Black Joe Lewis was the first show I covered at Off Broadway and was the first of many shows I would eventually cover for Eleven Magazine.
When you start out shooting shows, the first couple years you are pretty much learning the ropes. This show taught me 2 very important lessons early on:
1) Check your camera to make sure you are not shooting High Res JPEGs, because you need to shooting in RAW. My camera this day was in fact not set up to shoot in RAW which left me with High Res JPEGs that didn't leave much room for editing.
2) Get to a club show early, pee before you get there, don't drink anything, and find a spot to claim. If not you will never get close to the front of the stage once the main act starts their set.
Other than those lessons the show was great and Black Joe Lewis is a lot of fun to see live. The crowd was packed as well, which always makes for an energetic show to cover!
